Genesis, composed by Willy Wiedmann, was premiered in the Stuttgart Liederhalle in front of almost 2,000 spectators in the completely sold-out Stuttgart Liederhalle. The Cannstatt artist Willy Wiedmann was known for his many talents. He was not only a respected painter and gallery owner, but also a musician, composer and played double bass in the orchestra of the Württemberg State Theater in Stuttgart.
In his "Wiedmann Bible" he depicted the entire Bible in 3,333 hand-painted color panels with a length of 1.2 kilometers.
In July, eleven years after his death, his orchestral work "Genesis" was premiered by the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen under the direction of Prof. Jörg-Hannes Hahn - and accompanied by visual art. An immersive video installation by the light artist Laurenz Theinert accompanied the piece and invited the audience on a journey through the creation story.
